"My wife, Judy, was with me as I completed this piece. She was, in fact, standing atop the bridge at the left waving to me as I sat on the rocks painting from below. For years I have searched for a fresh viewpoint of the bridge before settling on this site. It was late in the afternoon with the sun beginning to set, creating warm, muted earth tones on both bridge and bay. The outlines were soft and diffused creating an impressionist-like open-air ambiance."
The original watercolor is owned by Minnie Stringer, a Vice President of Home Federal Savings of San Francisco.
